Big Sales at Build Mart (colloquially known as Build Mart) is a team-based game in MC Championship. This game debuted in MCC 3, being the second game to be added after the original 8 games.[1]
Official Description[]
A speed-building game that really tests communication and resource management! The aim is to build as many monuments as you can in the time limit by heading out into Build Mart, collecting the resources you need and bringing it back to your team's private build zone.
Goal and Description[]
Introduction and Goal[]
In this game, each team is given their own area with 3 builds and 3 empty spaces and are equipped with a specific set of tools. The goal is to replicate as many of the builds onto the empty plots in front of them within the 10 minutes given for the game by using resources that can be acquired from the "Build Mart". After accurately replicating a build, another build takes its place, allowing the team to continue building more of them. After every 3 builds, a "Golden build" appears, offering better rewards than regular builds.
The "Build Mart"[]
The build mart is accessed by walking through the portal in front of the empty plots. From there, 5 categories of building materials are available: wood, stone, ores, color, and nature. Individual team members are given custom shopping carts that act like controllable minecarts, allowing them to get to these sections of the build mart faster. However, there are multiple large gaps within the tracks that contestants can unfortunately fall through and lose their items to (except for their tools) in the process of getting and returning materials for their builds.
In Season 2, the Build Mart was transformed with resources islands scattered all over in the Build Mart dome, with the lower islands being colored blocks and the upper islands being the rest of the blocks. Players can access those islands by using fans, jump pads, and elytras.
Coin Rewards[]
- Coins awarded for a build completion are based on when the team completed a build, as with the following list:
- If a build is only partially completed when the game ends, some coins are given based on what percentage of the build was correctly replicated.
- Golden builds give double the coins compared to regular builds.
Remixes[]
- Main article: Game Remixes
Big Sales at Build Mart has been remixed twice in its lifetime.
- MCC 24 - Sands of Mart:
- The Build Mart map is changed to the Sands of Time map, with blocks provided around the map.
- Players can't die in this map, but can be distracted by mobs spawning around the map. Players can use their axes to kill them, but they will respawn from time to time.
- MCC TRE - Build Mart IRL
- Teams collect blocks from cubed stacks to replicate three different builds. Each player in the team has different roles: a cyclist, a gatherer, and 2 builders
- Scoring determined by the completion time of all builds.

Trivia[]
- The most number of builds completed by a team is 15, accomplished by the MCC 6's Purple Pandas.
- It is highly recommended and generally quite necessary for the team to have good communication for this game. Unless the intention is that everyone knows what every block available is and is working on 1 build by themselves at a time, being able to communicate to their teammates about missing resources and the location of unknown materials will help streamline the process of completing builds
- This game was the final game of Season 1.
- It was also the first game of Season 2.
History[]
Event | Changes |
---|---|
MCC 24 | - Introduced a remix for the game, Sands of Mart. - The scoring was adjusted just for this event: • 1st to complete: 160 • 2nd to complete: 150 • 3rd to complete: 138 • 4th to complete: 126 • 5th to complete: 112 • 6th to complete: 98 • 7th to complete: 82 • 8th to complete: 64 • 9th to complete: 48 • 10th to complete: 30 |
MCC 20 | - The coral island has been replaced by a copper island, with all types of copper blocks and oxidized copper blocks. - Azalea bushes and moss blocks were placed on the garden island of the map. |
MCC 19 | The Sand island is replaced by the Snow island for this event. |
MCC AS | - The correct rotation of all blocks is required for a build to be considered complete. (e.g. stairs, open doors, slabs) Texture rotation is not needed to complete the build (e.g. Door hinges in the wrong position still counts towards the completion) - Double slabs are now counted as a full block. |
MCC 17 | The scoring was changed, with each placement having a specific amount of coins, instead of decreasing at a consistent rate: • 1st to complete: 140 • 2nd to complete: 132 • 3rd to complete: 124 • 4th to complete: 116 • 5th to complete: 104 • 6th to complete: 92 • 7th to complete: 80 • 8th to complete: 64 • 9th to complete: 48 • 10th to complete: 32 - Partial build completion now counts based on how many times a build was completed, rather than the 10th build payout. |
MCC P21 | - Some blocks can now be found on multiple islands, such as Quartz which can now be found on both the Nether and Ore islands, and Nether Bricks on both Nether and Brick islands. - The logs were retextured to be more similar to vanilla textures. |
MCC 14 | - Introduced a new map for resource gathering - resources are now on floating islands. Shopping cart traveling is replaced with elytra travel. The map also contains a giant fan in the center to propel the player high up in the air, and launch pads & speed boosts from Ace Race are added to each resource island. - Nether and coral resources have been added. - Terracotta blocks have been removed. - The "Golden builds" feature is added. After every 3 builds, a Golden build appears, which give teams double the coins obtained compared to regular builds. - Fan-made builds were added. - Game time reduced from 12 minutes to 10 minutes. - The scoring was reverted back: • 160 for first team that finishes a build, decreasing by 8 for each team that completes the same build afterwards. |
MCC 8 | - Number of plots reduced from 4 to 3. - Furnaces now have unremovable lava buckets. - A build mart layout/map is now added in each team's build area. - Material randomization is introduced. |
MCC 7 | - Block subtitles are added to help players with colorblindness. - Enabled flying in the plot area. - Game time reverted from 15 minutes to 12 minutes. - The scoring was slightly changed: • 120 for first team that finishes a build, decreasing by 8 for each team that completes the same build afterwards. |
MCC 4 | Game time increased from 12 minutes to 15 minutes. |
MCC 3 | - Game introduced and debut. - Scoring: • 160 for first team that finishes a build, decreasing by 8 for each team that completes the same build afterwards. |
