Trainingserver

The Training Server

MCC Training Server, also known as MCC Practice Server, was a private server created by Noxcrew in July 2020. It was created so that MCC participants would be able to practice some aspects of the actual event.

There were two separate training servers: one for the main roster (and players from special events) and one solely dedicated to Rising rosters.

The training server was closed on March 31, 2025, following the implementation of the practice area in the Main Hub.[1] A summary of all the first-placed players in each leaderboard is also released on the tournament's socials.

History[]

It started as a training server for Parkour Warrior called MCC Parkour Warrior Training Server. The server had a replica of the actual map for training purposes. But to prevent the players from familiarizing themselves too much with the map, the map would receive minor tweaks here and there to throw the players off.

However, since the destruction of Parkour Warrior in MCC 11, the Training Server was updated to include more games, but in a simplified manner, only to teach the players basics of each game. Currently, the server features 7 games: Ace Race, Battle Box, Dodgebolt, Hole in the Wall, Parkour Tag, Parkour Warrior, and Rocket Spleef. The server also featured a leaderboard for games that revolve around individual skill, which are Ace Race, Hole in the Wall, and Parkour Warrior. Sometimes, Noxcrew members can be seen on the server and play along with the participants.

In September 2021, after the MCC Rising teams had been announced, another MCC Training Server was created, this time mainly for the MCC Rising participants. However, the main MCC participants could still join the server and play along with the MCC Rising participants, which resulted in some MCC participants putting themselves on the leaderboard. Some Noxcrew members, most notably TheBushBandit (Danny) and LaurenJuliet, also joined this server and play along with the participants. About one week after the event, the MCC Rising Training Server was shut down.

The training server was closed on March 31, 2025, following the implementation of the practice area in the Main Hub.

Ace Race[]

The course is much shorter than the ones in the main event, as it mainly focuses on familiarizing the players with the mechanics (i.e. Special Pads, Trident, Wing Rings). This game features 2 gamemodes: Casual Mode, for those who want to practice a specific part of the map; and Speedrun Mode, for those who want to practice running the whole three-lap course. There is a leaderboard that shows the top 20 people with the fastest Speedrun Mode completion time.

Battle Box[]

There are two different maps you can play: the Classic map, and the Courtyard map. Kits are also available on the server. For the match to start, both sides must have at least one person in it. An equal number of players on both sides are not required for a game to start.

Dodgebolt[]

Dodgebolt in the training server is the same as the one in the main event. For the match to start, both sides must have at least one person in it. An equal number of players on both sides are not required for a game to start.

Hole in the Wall[]

Hole in the Wall in the training server features a thin rectangular platform that players will stand on. Walls will only come in one direction and hence, there are no psych walls. The speed of the wall will start slow and get progressively faster the longer the players survive, and will only reset when no players are left on the platform. The maximum speed of the wall is significantly slower than in the main event. This game features a leaderboard that shows the top 10 people with the longest survival time.

Parkour Tag[]

There are two different maps you can play in: Urban Jungle and a variation of Winter Town. There is no runner vision for the runners. For the match to start, both sides must have at least one person in it.

Parkour Warrior[]

The training server features the whole course used in the last event Parkour Warrior was featured, MCC 11, but with all of the TNT removed. This game features 3 gamemodes: Casual Mode, for those who want to practice a specific part of the map; Speedrun Mode, for those who want to practice running the whole course; and Event Mode, for those who want to see how far they can go in 10 minutes, like in the actual event. There is a leaderboard that shows the top 20 people with the fastest Speedrun Mode completion time in Speedrun or Event mode.

Rocket Spleef[]

The arena in the training server is significantly smaller than the one in the original game. Multiple players can join in at the same time and use their rocket launchers to knock other players off the arena. The players are also given one firework rocket to boost themselves up, just like in the main event. There is no TNT Time on the server, and the arena will only reset once every player has fallen off the arena. However, the mechanics are identical to the original Rocket Spleef game, not Rocket Spleef Rush.

Trivia[]

  • SandwichLord would go on to take the #1 spot on the main server on June 3, 2024.[2] On June 5, 2024, SandwichLord achieve a higher time of 3:50:49 beating his personal best of 3:55:49 on the MCC R practice server.
    • Eventually, on January 17, 2025, he achieved a record time of 3:37.25 on the main server.[3][4]
  • On multiple occasions, both MCC and MCC R participants have been seen trying to create/recreate exploits or glitches in the training server. Although they were done with no malicious intent, the Noxcrew have jokingly kicked/banned people for those reasons.
    • During MCC R practice, some participants, mainly OwengeJuice, MakoInari, and Fundy, tried to beat Ace Race with a glitched elytra state.
    • On one occasion, the MCC Rising server crashed when MCC Rising participants Laqqy, MakoInari, and YelloWool flew outside the boundary using the Ace Race elytra exploit and reached the superflat world. In doing this, they loaded a large number of chunks very quickly and ultimately crashed the training server.
      • A similar exploit was also found by SB737 before MCC R. However, the server did not crash when he did it.
  • Smajor1995 sometimes uses his admin privileges to mess with players who are practicing:
  • In MCC 18, it was announced that TommyInnit had become a Junior Mod on the training server.
    • One of his privileges includes "muting" other players on the server. However, unbeknownst to him before a reveal, his power to mute a player only made said players' chat messages not appear on his screen. All other players could still see chat messages.
  • Before MCC 30, during a practice server stream by the Purple Pandas, Grian logged on and did a 1v4 on MCC 30's Purple Pandas team.
