MC Championship 17 was the nineteenth event of MC Championship. It took place on September 18, 2021 (8 PM BST). This event featured various scoring changes for some of the games.

Changes

MC Championship 17 - Update Video- New Parkour Tag map! (Sept 2021)

The update video was released, as usual, a day prior to the event, and was most notably focused on delivering new maps as well as coin balancing in various games which can be seen on the Noxcrew website.

• Two new teams were introduced - Green Geckos and Cyan Coyotes - replacing Cyan Creepers and Green Guardians.
• Ace Race reverted to the Python's Crypt map.
• Battle Box received a new map called Graffiti, which allows block placement as well as featuring more verticality, though it was not played.
• Parkour Tag got a brand new city-themed map named Plaza, which was also not played.
• Big Sales at Build Mart received a scoring change where coins for every placement were decreased, but the gap between placements became larger, making higher placements more valuable.
  • Partial build completion now counts based on how many times a build was completed, rather than the 10th build payout.
• Grid Runners now rewards teams based on how quickly they complete individual rooms as well as giving a main reward for finishing the whole course.
• TGTTOSAWAF received a new map called Shallow Lava.
  • Bonuses are now given to the first 4 teams to finish and the first 4 players to finish (decreased respectively per placement). However, the regular coins for finishing were decreased from 80 coins decreasing by 2 coins per placement to 40 coins decreasing by 1 coin per placement.
• Sands of Time puzzles now feature reset buttons. The buttons can have either unlimited uses or will only allow one use.
• Survival Games returned to the World of Cars - Forest map.
  • Points for survival and kills were drastically reduced. Instead, a new ranking system based on at what point each team lost all 4 players will give teams the bigger bulk of point payouts.

There are also some changes that are not in the update video, but were implemented for this MCC:

• Vexes are removed from Sands of Time due to the difficulties surrounding them.
• There are now 10 edible items in the main lobby, with 3 giving potion effects when consumed.

Trivia

Participation

• This MCC introduced three new players: vGumiho, GeminiTay and Sneegsnag.
  • This MCC also re-introduced King Burren who hadn’t played since MCC 12 and Karl Jacobs who hadn’t played since MCC 13.
• Some recurring contestants did not participate in this event:
  • PearlescentMoon took a one-event break and practice.
  • Seapeekay and TheOrionSound got excluded from this event for rotation purposes.
    • Seapeekay was present as a guest on the Admin Stream.
    • TheOrionSound suggested that he would help train the new players being introduced to MCC.
  • TapL announced that he would sit this event out to help with his mental wellbeing.
  • Smallishbeans and LDShadowLady were not available for the date.
  • Kratzy and Fundy were absent for unknown reasons.
• This is the second MCC where Rendog was not teamed with FalseSymmetry with MCC 10 being the first.
  • This is also the first MCC where Vixella and KryticZeuz were not teamed with James Turner and DrGluon.
• This MCC featured two highly requested player duos: "FruitNinja" (Fruitberries & Illumina) and the "Disc Duo" (Dream & TommyInnit).
• This was the first regular event where no Sleepy Bois Inc. members (particularly Ph1LzA, TommyInnit, and Wilbur Soot) were teamed together.
• On the day before the new cyan team mascot was announced, Noxite made a joke tweet 'leaking' the mascot, called the 'Cyan Cylinders'.
  • As a result, the elevator joke for this event included a Cyan Cylinders forest with facts about cylinders scattered across the room.
• Antfrost revealed on January 31, 2022 that BadBoyHalo was originally going to be on Aqua Axolotls before being subbed in for by CaptainPuffy, who was then subbed in for by Eret before the team announcement was made. Antfrost was unsure of why BadBoyHalo and CaptainPuffy were unable to participate.

Statistics

• After playing in 10 events, Grian won his first event in this event.
  • He also pulled off a 1v3 in the fifth and final round of Dodgebolt, the second player to do so after Smallishbeans in MCC 8.
• Ranboo was the first one to die in all three rounds of Sky Battle, with 14 seconds in round 1 being his longest lasting round.
  • He also came third in all three rounds of Hole in the Wall.
• Illumina got an ace in Round 1 of Dodgebolt (killing all four players on the opposing team).
• The Orange Ocelots are currently the second highest-scoring regular-event team of season 2 (second to the MCC 20 Yellow Yaks scoring 249 points over them) as well as the second highest-scoring regular-event team since the MCC 9 Blue Bats.
• This was the 3rd event where every participant got a individual score over 1000, after MCC 12 and MCC 14.
