The teams in MC Championship 21 (April 13-14, 2022)
MC Championship 21 was the twenty-fifth event of MC Championship. It took place on April 30, 2022, at 7 PM GMT (8 PM BST).[1] This event was spring-themed, with decorations and special changes dedicated to the spring season, similar to MCC 4. This event also introduced Game Remixes.
An unofficial transcript of the event was made by u/MrOrcaDood and others on Reddit, which can be found here.
Changes
MC Championship 21 - Update Video- Spring, Battle Box Remix, and New Maps! (April 2022)
The update video was[2] released a day before the event, focusing on the spring theme of the event and the introduction of Game Remixes.
- The Main Hub had been decorated to match the spring theme of the event.
- Before the event, as an April Fool's joke, viewers on Twitter can submit their dogs as the "new team icons" for the events. As this was a joke, this was not implemented. However, three dogs (Lucy, Cookie, and Paddy) had been added as part of a new hub mini-game.
- A new hub minigame is introduced, where players can collect flowers from the three dogs. The flowers are limited to one per dog. Flowers can be used in the Decision Dome to vote on a game, without the vote being moved, and counted as 3 votes each.
- Chickens in the Decision Dome had been swapped for bunnies, similar to MCC 4.
- Firebombs can destroy both the bunnies and the flowers planted.
- Game Remixes are introduced, allowing players an opportunity to change how a game works for an event.
- The first remix was for Battle Box, introducing a brand new map, Double Trouble, with two capture points and tridents are only allowed as the weapon used in the game. This idea came from Moesh, a game designer at Mojang.
- The team with the most wool blocks from each point would be crowned as the winner of that round.
- Draws in this event would award half of the win coins in the game. This was later reverted back in MCC 22.
- The first remix was for Battle Box, introducing a brand new map, Double Trouble, with two capture points and tridents are only allowed as the weapon used in the game. This idea came from Moesh, a game designer at Mojang.
- The difficulty of Sands of Time's tunnels had been increased, and they now go a bit deeper.
- A new parkour challenge has been added for the gold key. For this challenge, however, players can sacrifice 4 sand to make it easier.
- Rocket Spleef Rush's Journey hasd thicker islands and a longer-lasting starting island.
- Parkour Tag got a brand new map, The Dustbowl, inspired by professional Parkour Tag arenas.
- Grid Runners coins had been adjusted to award fastest room completions over course completions. Two new rooms are also introduced.
- Sky Battle got a brand new map, Mesa Madness, where players spawn with arrows but have to find bows in chests. Players also spawn with gold chestplates instead of iron ones, and a multitude of gold blocks are now obtainable. A single diamond block was added at the top of the map.
- Survival Games was changed back to World of Cars - Farm, last featured in MCC 9.
- Big Sales at Build Mart got six new builds from a viewer contest earlier in the month.
- Hole in the Wall got a brand new map, The Labwallatory, with a brand new platform introduced.

Trivia
- Multiple issues happened during the event:
- Before the start of Survival Games, the timer was paused right before it hit zero to accommodate players who hadn't loaded in yet.
- Snifferish and Punz were disconnected before the start of Grid Runners.
- BadBoyHalo was having some internet problems for some of the games, mainly in Hole in the Wall and Grid Runners.
- Sands of Time won the Game 7 selection over Parkour Tag despite earning less votes.
- One of the arrows during the third round of Dodgebolt got stuck on the wall. This left only one arrow being used.
Participation
- This event introduced only one new competitor, Snifferish, who was part of the third backup team in MCC R.[4]
- jojosolos became the first player from a special event to join the main roster, having played in two special events (MCC R, MCC AS).
- This event reintroduced the Krimson Krakens team, with the same team members from MCC 7 - Krtzyy, CaptainSparklez, KaraCorvus, and Krinios.
- This was the first event since MCC 4 that no female Hermits played (FalseSymmetry, GeminiTay, PearlescentMoon).
- This was the fifth and final regular event, after MCC 12, MCC 13, MCC 16, and MCC 19 where none of Dream, GeorgeNotFound, and Sapnap (i.e. the Dream Team) were not teamed together, since their debuts.
- This was the first event that KryticZeuz did not team with at least one other Simmer.
- This event was the second event where the duo of TommyInnit and Dream (known as the "Disc Duo") was featured. The last time they were together was in MCC 17.
- A known bit that was featured in their streams for this event was them planning to "pay to win" the event, with them jokingly wanting to buy out the event.
- This event was the second event where the duo of Sapnap and Seapeekay (called the Firefox duo) was featured. The last time they were together was in MCC 14.
- This is the first and only event to feature all 5 Hunters and Speedrunner from Dream's Minecraft Manhunt: Minecraft Speedrunner VS 5 Hunters.
- BadBoyHalo and Antfrost are the only 2 players to be in the same team in this event. Every other player were on seperate teams.
Statistics
- With his win in this event, Sapnap became the second 5-time winner.
- Sapnap also became the first player to win three consecutive regular events in a row.
- This was the second event where no team got above 20,000 coins, with the other event being MCC 13.
- Sapnap got an Ace in the 1st round of Dodgebolt.
- This event had the shortest Dodgebolt in a regular event, only lasting 3 minutes and 46 seconds.
- There was one tie for an individual placement
