MC Championship 22 was the twenty-sixth event of MC Championship. It took place on May 28, 2022, at 7 PM GMT (8 PM BST). This event introduced a new PVP game of Meltdown.

Changes

MC Championship 22 - Update Video- Meltdown and More! (May 2022)

The update video, was released a day prior to the event, as well as the rule video for the new game, Meltdown.

• Added a new game, Meltdown, a team-based PVP game.
  • To find out more about the game, visit the Meltdown page.
• The Main Hub got some more decorations, with cats as well as a giant inflatable flamingo in the sky.
• Battle Box map is changed back to Ships.
• TGTTOSAWAF got a brand new map Badlands, which is a fast-paced block-placing jumping map, similar to Shallow Lava.
  • In addition, Doors, Glide, Skydive, Pit, and Beehive are to be played in the event.
• Ace Race map is changed back to Space Race, but the map is mirrored, similar to Cliff? in TGTTOSAWAF.
• Dodgebolt got some tweaks:
  • After the first round, if the score is not tied, the losing team will now get 2 arrows.
  • If the score is tied (1-1, 2-2), each side will still get one arrow each.

Trivia

• The event was held on Quig's birthday. He got a customized birthday hat and a cake in the hub, similar to fruitberries and caitees during MCC 16 and MCC R.
• Kara Corvus joined the event during Dodgebolt as a spectator.

Participation

• This event introduced two new players: Foolish Gamers and TinaKitten.
• This event welcomed back Spifey, PearlescentMoon and Blushi, who had not played since MCC 16, MCC 18 and MCC AS respectively.
• This was the first event that JackManifoldTV, vGumiho, Sneegsnag and ElainaExe had not played since their debuts.
• Before the team announcements, some players stated their absences from this event:
  • Ph1LzA did not participate in this event due to his trip to America.
  • Illumina confirmed his absence from the event. He also stated that he may not be in the next event, as he would be in the Games Done Quick event in June (he was nicked AirFryerOwner69 at that time), but then participated anyway in MCC P22 as MCC was a week before the Games Done Quick event.
  • InTheLittleWood confirmed on stream that he would miss the event.
• The Yellow Yaks were the first all-female team in a regular event.
  • This led to people calling the team the "Golden Gals."
  • Sylvee however called this team the "Piss Princesses," alongside other alternate names.
• The Red Rabbits were 75% colorblind.
  • George, awesamdude, and CaptainPuffy all have a non-color skin of their ususal skin.
  • Dream wore a completely plain blue skin as a second layer.

• There was one tie for an individual placement
  • Shubble and FalseSymmetry tied for 33rd place.
