MC Championship 8 was the eighth event of MC Championship. It took place on August 15, 2020 at 8 PM BST.

Changes

MC Championship 8 - Update Video (August 2020)

The update video, was released the day before the event, including significant changes in Big Sales at Build Mart.

• Reduction of plots, material randomization in builds, and the addition of an info-graphic in Big Sales at Build Mart
• An efficient teleportation system in Bingo But Fast, allowing players to teleport to their teammates or to spawn.
• Battle Box got a brand new map, Canal. Players also can't damages their teammates after the previous event's incident and that they can't share items from selected kits anymore.
• Ace Race's Clouds map got some tweaks, allowing more fluidity around the map. Players will also receive Dolphin's Grace and Depth Strider boots as well.
• Sands of Time's amount of sand is reduced slightly. Coin penalties (20%) on a player's dropped coins are also implemented when a player died. There also a few extra rooms down below the sand timer. Coins splitting are also introduced.
• Players will now get a warning when they cross their team's line in Dodgebolt, as their bows disappear.
• The ability to store up to 3 rockets, and some physics modifications to Rocket Spleef as well as additional TNT in TNT time
• The countdown to the start of the event is now two minutes by default.

Trivia

Participation

• Three new players have joined this event: RIPmika, SB737, and TapL.

Statistics

• Joey Graceffa left mid-way through the competition, scoring a total of just 347 coins. This made him the player who scored the lowest amount of points individually at the time.
  • This was later beaten by CrankGameplays, who did not participate in MCC 23, but still got 90 coins from his team's placement coins in Survival Games in that event, before he got substituted by KryticZeuz after the game.
• This was the first event where the bottom four places (40th to 37th) were all occupied by players of the same team.
  • Coincidentally, the four places above that (36th to 33rd) were also occupied by players of one team.
• This was the second event in which the second place team won Dodgebolt, after MCC 6.
• All four members of the Cyan Creepers got 3rd place individually in Skyblockle, with 580 unmultiplied coins.
• This is the 1st MCC where 2 players face off in Dodgebolt again after the previous MCC being both HBomb94 and Technoblade. This would happen again with Sapnap and TheOrionSound in MCC 33 and MCC 34.
