The teams in MC Championship Pride 22 (June 6-7, 2022)

MC Championship Pride 22 (also known as MCC P22) was the twenty-seventh event of MC Championship. It was the third event in the Pride series. It took place on June 18, 2022, at 7 PM GMT (8 PM BST). This event aimed to raise money for The Trevor Project and mental health support for the LGBTQIA+ communities.

Fundraiser

Same as with MCC P21, the event added 8 special features that would happen at certain donation milestones and targets, but also added 4 targets to be reached before the event started, determining the remix versions of the games. $146,859 were raised in this event.

Pre-event Targets

• Target 1 of 4 - Grid Runners: Mission Mix-Up ($5,000): All the Grid Runners rooms would have their objectives scrambled, from the original objective of the room.
• Target 2 of 4 - TGTTOSAWAF: To Get to the Other Stack ($10,000): Get to the other side by hitching a ride! Players can right-click to create super tall player towers as they complete the course.
• Target 3 of 4 - Survival Games: Adorable Army ($15,000): Rescue pets from chests all over the map and have them fight for you!
• Target 4 of 4 - Hole in the Wall: Spectator Payback ($20,000): Spectators can now cause chaos by throwing mobs down onto the arena. Mobs will be given to spectators at random, and can be anything from a silverfish to a ravager.

Event Milestones

• Milestone 1 of 8: Wear Your Pride ($25,000): Adds two pride-themed cosmetics (hearts and flower wreaths) to the event.
• Milestone 2 of 8: Scrambled Eggs ($50,000): Two players on each team are given infinite eggs in Decision Dome, while the other two members of the team receive a crossbow with infinite arrows.
• Milestone 3 of 8: Wear More Pride ($75,000): Adds more pride cosmetics to the event.
• Milestone 4 of 8: Dunk Bonanza ($100,000¹): All the players are given the dunk item in the Decision Dome.
• Milestone 5 of 8: Super Pride ($90,000): More pride cosmetics will be available for players to equip.
• Milestone 6 of 8: Unicorns ($95,000): Unicorns will be unleashed in the hub and players will be able to ride them.
• Milestone 7 of 8: Ultimate Pride ($100,000): Players will be given even more cosmetics.
• Milestone 8 of 8: Mega-Bolt ($120,000): All the players will be teleported to the Dodgebolt arena for a round of 20v20 Dodgebolt.²

Notes

1. ^  This milestone was not reached and was skipped before the seventh Decision Dome.
2. ^  In the actual event, however, Seapeekay and TheOrionSound, who were spectating the event also joined the match, making it a 21v21 Dodgebolt instead.

Changes

MC Championship Pride 22 - Update Video (June 2022)

The update video, was released a day prior to the event, focusing on the pride theme of the event. All the maps, games, and the main hub got their pride dress-ups.

• Four game remixes were introduced in this event as pre-event goals.

• Added more cosmetics to be worn in the event alongside the previous ones in MCC P21. A flag switching interface is also implemented to change the flag to any other LGBTQIA+ flags available, including Pride, Transgender, Non-Binary, Asexual, Pansexual, Bisexual, Lesbian, Gay, and Unlabeled.
• As part of the milestones, Scrambled Eggs milestone is introduced, giving two members of each team infinite eggs, with the other two being given crossbows.
• Some of the unicorns in the sixth milestone are now able to fly.
• Ace Race is back to Clouds map. This time, the speed boost pads, and some decorations are ace-themed, per the name of the game.
• TGTTOSAWAF's Terra Swoop Force - Tunnel 1, To The Dome!, Cliff, Walls, Pit, and Siege, are to be played in the game.
  • All the "fans" who are at the end for this event are players who do not participate in this event.
• The death messages in TGTTOSAWAF and Hole in the Wall are pride-themed for this event.
• Survival Games' map is back to the pride-themed Millionaire Mansions 2.
• Battle Box's map is back to The Paint Factory. The creeper eggs that were available as bonus items are now replaced by TNTs instead.
• There is now a double-decker hot tub in the Main Hub area.
• The Decision Dome music was remixed for this event.

There were a total of 8 games that will be played in this event, with Meltdown, Rocket Spleef Rush, Sands of Time, and Sky Battle, not being in the selection.

Four remixes were introduced. Each of them could be played, if a target for that remix is hit on the fundraiser website.

Trivia

• Before the event, Smajor1995 stated that this MCC would not be a partnered event with YouTube Gaming.
• This was the fourth event to feature only 8 minigames in the Decision Dome dial, meaning every one available had to be played.
• This was the first charity MCC where not all milestones were reached during the event, as Dunk Bonanza was skipped due to no more games left to be chosen in the Decision Dome.
• Despite not being in the event, 2 players played briefly on someone else's account:
  • Wilbur Soot temporarily played on Shubble's setup during Ace Race.
  • OwengeJuice also played at Smajor1995's setup during Ace Race, despite being a part of the Noxcrew.
    • Both players were in the Yellow Yaks' voice-chat, with Owen staying for the rest of the event in the background of Scott's stream.
    • It was confirmed by Scott before the event started that Owen was allowed by Noxite to play on Ace Race. This caused Dream to joke around on the MCC Subreddit that he would use hacks in a special event after his 2nd place in Ace Race was stolen by Owen.
• After 20v20 Dodgebolt, the Red Rabbits were teleported on The Walk of Fame, despite losing to the Aqua Axolotls.

Participation

• Smajor1995 aimed to pick at least half of the players from the LGBTQIA+ community, either from the main roster or in the Minecraft community, to play in the event.
  • Along with this, some people from the LGBTQIA+ community used their photo/profile pictures with their pride flags in the teams announcement, as well as most people using their fanarts.
    • Snifferish had used a fanart of them with the non-binary flag made by Li_n_arts, the same artist who made Nihachu's profile picture.
    • GeminiTay had used her picture from her coming out announcement.
    • Shubble had used a fanart of her with the asexual flag made by Tunamuffin on twitter.
    • aimsey had used a edit of their profile picture with the lesbian flag.
  • In a later stream, he said that he would add 8 new players. This event introduced Valkyrae, Sykkuno, VelvetIsCake, Jacksepticeye and CrankGameplays, while the three other players that were considered new had either only participated in special events, or had not played since Season 1. This number was later changed to 7, as Ludwig dropped out before the event.
• This event welcomed back LazarBeam and aimsey, who had not played since MCC P21 and MCC R respectively.
• Before the team announcements, some players stated their absence from this event:
  • Smajor1995 confirmed that none of the Sleepy Bois Inc (Technoblade, Ph1LzA, TommyInnit and Wilbur Soot) would be participating in this event for various reasons:
    • Techno was not interested in participating.
    • Tommy, Phil and Wilbur said on their streams that they would be going to California for VidCon.
      • This was the first event aside from MCC JJ and MCC R that Wilbur had missed since his debut in MCC 1.
  • MCC P21's Green Guardians (aka The Krew) and the winner of the event, KreekCraft, had both stated that they also had the same reasons for their absences as the rest of the Sleepy Bois Inc.

Statistics

• This was the first event where Dream and Grian won a round of Hole in the Wall.
• Both Dream and Foolish Gamers got an ace in Dodgebolt, in Round 2 and 4 respectively.
  • This was the first event which featured multiple Dodgebolt aces.
