The teams in MC Championship Pride 23 (June 1-2, 2023)

MC Championship Pride 23 (also known as MCC P23) was the thirty-eighth event of MC Championship. It was the fourth event in the Pride series. It took place on June 10, 2023, at 8 PM BST. This event aims to raise money for The Trevor Project and mental health support for the LGBTQIA+ communities.

Coin for MCC Pride 23

Rainbow Tower in Main Hub

On June 5, 2023, Noxcrew released their new merch store (mcc.store) with a new Season 3 collection as well as a limited pride coin for this event.

The coin is available to purchase until the end of June 2023, and is the same coin that the winning team will get for this event. The winning team will also receive a plaque and an additional coin, in addition to the same coin they would get. The profits made from coin sales will go towards the main fundraiser of the tournament for The Trevor Project.

Unlike other years, this year does not feature donation milestones and unlocks for the event. Instead, all the cosmetics and unlockable items from previous years will be available to players in the Main Hub throughout this event. However, a new rainbow parkour tower is introduced in the Main Hub. This tower will get taller as the donation total increases throughout the event.

Changes

MC Championship Pride 23 - Update Video- Sands of Pride! (June 2023)

The update video was released a day prior to the event, and focuses on the pride theme of the event.

• All the of the game maps, as well as the main hub, received pride dress-ups.
• A new rainbow parkour tower has been added. This tower would get taller as the donation total increases throughout the event.
• Winners of this event would get two coins as well as a plaque, commemorating their wins in this event.
• The pride-themed cosmetics and items unlocked in previous years through donations, were available to players throughout this event. These cosmetics would appear during games as well as in the hub.
• From now on, previous event's winners would have their crowns shown in games as well, not only in the Main Hub.
• Game Remixes are now more clearly shown in the Decision Dome and at the beginning of the game (with its new icon)
• Ace Race's Turtle Run map re-introduced the ace-themed Speed Boost pads.
• Battle Box featured the return of The Pride Factory map.
• Bingo But Fast took place in a Mesa and Jungle Hills map. In addition to this, players are given an elytra (same as in MCC AF) and 2 firework rockets to aid their scavenging.
• Meltdown's bow (as well as other bows in the event) was the "rain-bow," and heaters emitted heart particles.
• Parkour Tag featured the return of The Pridebowl map.
• A new Sands of Time remix was introduced, and takes inspiration from Antfrost. This remix introduced buffs and debuffs to some sand blocks in the dungeon. These effects include Fire Resistance, Jump Boost, Slowness, Speed, Strength, and more. These effects can stack on top of each other. Each effect's duration will depend on how much time is already left in the timer.
• TGTTOSAWAF was played with the "To Get to the Other Stack" remix that was initially introduced as one of the four pre-event donation targets in MCC P22. Four maps were teased in both the update video and the games announcement: Cliff, Siege, Spiral Climb, and Terra Swoop Force - Tunnel 1.
• 20v20 Megabolt was teased towards the end of the update video.

There were 8 games that were played in this event, with Grid Runners, Hole in the Wall, Parkour Warrior, Rocket Spleef Rush, Sky Battle, and Survival Games being benched.

This event introduced two remixes in Sands of Time and TGTTOSAWAF, with the Sands of Time remix being submitted by Antfrost.

Trivia

• This event is the first in the pride series, where the event icon is pink, instead of silver.
• This was the sixth event to feature only 8 minigames in the Decision Dome dial, meaning every one available had to be played.
• This event is the first event since Season 2 that there's no game music in one of the games in the event. (Bingo But Fast)
• This event is the first event that there are no votes in the Decision Dome dial for a round of voting. This is mainly due to Dunk Bonanza event that happened in the third round of voting, and that there are no voting eggs in the same round as well.
• This is the third time that the Megabolt is not exactly 20v20 as teased in the update video, as Gee Nelly left before the special game.
  • This game still has the same issue as in MCC AF, where only one team can win the game despite a side winning with two or more teams left.
• According to the admin stream, the game remix for Sands of Time was initially pitched by ManWithRaft, a MCC tester, then passed on to Seapeekay, then submitted by Antfrost.

Participation

• This event introduced seven players: Guqqie, LilyPichu, Mysticat, Piso, Ryan Higa, xChocoBars, and ZombieCleo.
• This event welcomed back OwengeJuice, who has not played since MCC R.
• Before the team announcements, Snifferish announced that they would not be in this event.

Statistics

• With this event, GizzyGazza is currently the only player who have won two events out of four in the Pride series. He also has been in every Dodgebolt for those events as well.
