MC Championship Rising (also known as MCC R) was the twentieth event of MC Championship, and the first event in the Rising series. With this event, all the teams consist of creators who had never played in any event before. It took place on October 2, 2021, at 8 PM BST.

Over 3,232 application videos were submitted for the event. The ten teams were announced on Friday, September 24, 2021, with all of them announced in one day.

Changes

MCC Rising - Update Video! (Oct 2021)

There was a short update video released before the event to describe the minor tweaks done in general as well as the changes made for this event specifically:

• In order to "sprinkle in a bit of the classic feeling" in Noxite's words, old maps of certain games were brought back for MCCR:
  • Ace Race - Clouds*
  • Battle Box - Classic
  • Hole in the Wall - Classic
  • Parkour Tag - Factory*
  • Survival Games - City Living
• TGTTOSAWAF was renamed to TGTTOSAWAMCCP (To Get To The Other Side And Whack An MC Championship Participant).
  • The fans at the end were replaced with random MCC participants from the past.
• There were some scoring tweaks:
  • In Survival Games, kill coins were doubled from 35 to 70, survival per death coins were reduced from 5 to 3, and team placement bonuses were increased (e.g. 1st place team now gets 700 compared to 650 last MCC).
  • In TGTTOS, team bonuses were nerfed (e.g. 1st place team now earns 100 split compared to 250 split from last time) and the top individual placement bonuses were widened to comprise the whole top 10.

* These were not mentioned in the update video, but the maps were featured in the announcement of the games on Twitter.

The games available in this event were the same as in MCC 16 and MCC 17. There were a total of 10 games that could be played in this event. Battle Box and Sky Battle were skipped in this event.

Trivia

• The event is similar to MCC 10, with the difference of having the entire event full of content creators who haven't been in an event yet, instead of just 2 viewer teams in MCC 10.
• This is the first event to feature Bedrock Edition creators (MrBeardstone and BrunoDanUy from Yellow Yaks).
• Seven of the players from this event were invited back in other events:
  • Two winners from the Pink Parrots, jojosolos and Blushi, were invited back to participate in MCC AS. They would then join the main roster starting from MCC 21 and MCC 22 respectively.
  • aimsey from the Green Geckos was invited back to participate in MCC P22. They would then join the main roster starting from MCC 23.
  • Bekyamon from the Orange Ocelots was invited back to participate in MCC 28.
  • DarkEyebrows from the Aqua Axolotls was invited as a substitute for Aimsey in MCC 31.
  • OwengeJuice from the Orange Ocelots was invited to participate in MCC P23. He would join the main roster starting in MCC 32.
  • soupforeloise from the Orange Ocelots would join the main roster starting from MCC P24.
• soupforeloise and OwengeJuice became members of the Noxcrew after they participated, with Owen leaving later due to his contract expiring.
• Marbar_x was invited back as a tester after her participation.

Participation/Team-related

• The Purple Pandas' alternative name was the "Lilac Lesbians", with all four members being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
  • They were also the first team that was entirely female.
  • However, in October 2021 and March 2022, one of the team members, RAEHASRABIES, came out as unlabeled and transgender, making the Lilac Lesbians a no longer full lesbian member and full female team.
• This is the first MCC in which Smajor1995 was absent.

Statistics

• This is the first MCC with two female winners.
• jojosolos became the highest placing female player in MCC history, placing fifth individual.
• Multiple records were broken:
  • The Pink Parrots's 6:41 completion of the Grid Runners course was the fastest completion ever, also earning the highest coins ever.
  • Records broken by the Cyan Coyotes:
    • They achieved the record for kills in Survival Games, with a total of 22 kills.
    • They had the highest average individual placement ever.
    • They broke the record for unmultiplied coins in TGTTOSAWAF, scoring 1946 coins.
      • Dev broke the record for individual coins earned in TGTTOS, with 645 coins.
    • They broke the record for coins in Parkour Tag, scoring 1746 coins.
  • No team outside of the top two got 1st place in any game.
  • Both the Cyan Coyotes and the Pink Parrots placed 1st four times, and placed 2nd two times.
    • This has only happened once before in MCC 3, where the Orange Ocelots and the Blue Bats ended up placing 1st four times each.
  • The Blue Bats placed 3rd in 6 games.
