Changes
MC Championship- Twitch Rivals San Diego LIVE!
The update video[2] was released a day prior to the event, summarising the games to be played and changes in the event.
General Changes
- All changes for the Twitch Rivals series were included in this event. This includes the condensed format, the main stream, and the game multipliers.
- Audience could now vote for the game they want to play at Game 3 and Game 4. The game that was voted will get 6 votes in the Decision Dome dial.
- The voting for game 3 was conducted in the Twitch Rivals arena audience. The game that has the loudest cheer will get the votes.
- The voting for game 4 was conducted in the Twitch Rivals main stream, by typing the number in chat corresponding to the game the stream audience wants to play. The game that has the highest votes will get the votes.
- A new wins leaderboard was introduced in the Hall of Fame. The leaderboard includes the amount of wins each player in the event has, excluding MCC JJ and Rising events.
- The time approximation countdown for the next Decision Dome voting round was introduced. This temporarily replaced the automatic countdown system due to the nature of Twitch Rivals events or other commentary-oriented events.
Game Changes and Maps Featured
- Ace Race introduced a new map of Python's Palace. This map introduced two new mechanics.
- Swift Sprint checkpoint - when a player passes the checkpoint, they will be given speed, jump boost (around 3 blocks), and an ability to run up full blocks without jumping.
- Elytra Ring - gives players a forward boost when flying through it.
- Hole in the Wall's Wall in the Beach was featured for this event.
- Sky Battle's Mesa Madness was featured for this event.
- There are a couple of new death messages introduced in Sky Battle for spleefing and being hooked to death with a fishing rod, a feature that was first introduced on MCC Island.
- To Get to the Other Side's Golf, Las Vegas, Pits, Siege, and Skydive were featured for this event, alongside a new map of Zoo.
