These are all the policies and common practices that are enforced on the wiki.
Page Creation
When it comes to creating a page, there are some guidelines when it comes to them:
- Event pages: Each event page name format is: "MC Championship XX", where XX is the number of the event or the event's tagline (e.g. Rising, Pride 22)
- Future event pages should not be created until that particular event is announced. For example, if MCC 30 is not announced yet, then the page should not be created.
- Abbreviated versions of the event name, e.g. MCC XX, MCCXX, should be created as a redirect to the main "MC Championship XX" page.
- Participants: Only participants who are in an event can have their pages be created. Pages about speculated participants or participants on the waitlist are not allowed.
- Speculations about a new player in the event are against the rules of the MCC Wiki, as it can be deemed as false information, and will result in a punishment. This is analysed in a case-by-case basis as with recent sockpuppeting and vandalism in the past.
- Map pages: Each map page name format is: [Name of Map] ([Game Name]). For example, Ships (Battle Box) or Terra Swoop Force (TGTTOS)
- Themed versions of the map should be in the same page as the original version of the map, i.e. if there's a festive version of a map, then its details should be in the same map page as its original version
- TGTTOSAWAF maps' game names are written as TGTTOS, instead of TGTTOSAWAF.
Page Protection
Page protections are in place to avoid any vandalism that could be made from time-to-time. These policies may be changed at anytime, depending on the circumstances on the wiki.
If there is a protection in place, editors are encouraged to contribute to low-traffic pages (e.g. other player pages, game pages) first before editing on the main pages (event pages, high-traffic pages), or message one of the active staff members for the edit to be made.
- Event pages and Important/High-traffic pages (e.g. Grian, Players)
- They are indefinitely semi-protected, allowing only editors with an account of at least 4 days old.
- Any vandalism/sockpuppet edits from those pages may result in them being fully protected temporarily. This may be upgraded to permanent, if they are severe.
- Controversial Players
- Players who are involved with a controversy and are deemed as controversial in the general public will have their pages fully-protected as a precaution for a certain amount of time (typically a week)
- After the initial precaution phase, an internal discussion amongst the staff members will decide what is next for the page, depending on the current scenario of the controversy. The outcomes (or the combination of outcomes) can be, but not limited to:
- Fully protected (staff-only) page for a certain amount of time. (i.e. a month)
- Fully protected page indefinitely.
- Removal of all social media in the page.
- Staff-only pages and front-page related templates and pages
- They are always fully-protected, allowing only staff members to edit them.
- Other pages
- If there's any vandalism/sockpuppet edits, the pages that were edited would be temporarily semi-protected, starting from a week and so on. Further vandalism may result in the page being indefinitely semi-protected or fully protected.
Reliable Sources
These are sources that are accepted and should be used when stating questionable or sensitive information about participants and MC Championship.
- Social media posts: The primary sources should be from either the Noxcrew, MC Championship official social media accounts, and Smajor1995.
- Participants' social media posts are not allowed until those are confirmed to be true via official sources. This applies to sensitive information that affects their time in MC Championship. (e.g. if a participant said that they would not be in an event) This is due to how some participants often stated that they would not be in an event, while being on the event themselves.
- Discord messages must include both the screenshot of the message as well as the message link to the original message. This is to prevent people faking their sources when inserting them onto the wiki. (This has happened before on other social media)
- MC Championship and Noxcrew official websites: These include mcc.live and MC Championship and MCC Island website. Third-party websites and sources are not recommended, especially when it comes to statistics of each player. Transcript links are, however, able to be linked in each event page.
- Videos from Noxcrew and Participants: These include update videos for each event, rule videos, and VODs from each participant (including the admin stream) This is the most reliable source when something is mentioned or referring to how each participant perform in each event.
Statistics
These cover every statistic that are displayed throughout the MCC Wiki.
- All the leaderboard statistics that are displayed on each event page should be directly from mcc.live or in-game. This includes the team leaderboard and the individual leaderboard.
- In the case if there are any corrections, these would be added as a remark on the correction.
- Wins are counted for all events, with the exception of special events. (MCC JJ and Rising events)
- Dodgebolt wins does not correspond to "first place" in an event. Instead, for the teams section in each event, wins are denoted by a "crown" over the team placements.
- Most average statistics are only counted for regular events. This includes all the averages from game histories, infoboxes, etc.
- Usage of averages for coins are highly discouraged, due to the nature of Twitch Rivals series, and "unfair" events such as MCC AF. Instead, total coins a player has earned should be listed instead.
- These statistics do not include average times for non-remixed games of Ace Race, Hole in the Wall, and Rocket Spleef Rush.
- All best performing statistics and records are counted for both regular and special events. This includes the best individual placements, the best performance for each game, the statistics (i.e. the Kudos system) section in each game page, and any other game-related statistics.
Please note that this policy covers most of the statistics that are on the MCC wiki.
