Meltdown is a team-based PVP game that was introduced in MCC 22. This is the fourth additional game introduced in Season 2.

Meltdown is a frantic, 3 round Battle Royale where players must traverse a melting lab to rescue crates filled with coins.

Armed with bows, players can freeze enemies with just one shot and use heaters to thaw out their fallen teammates. Players must keep moving, following their trusty map towards the centre of the facility.

This game is all about trying to get as many coin crates as you can as well as eliminating other players in the process. It is played across 3 rounds.

At the start of a round, teams are scattered across the grid-like lab, from their own team entrances. As the game goes on, the map will slowly melt away, room by room, forcing teams to move to the centre room. A signal will be given to each player, if the current room they are in is in a meltdown state. A map is given to all players indicating the rooms, coins locations, and the meltdown state of each room.

There are two ways to get coins in this game:

• Coin Crates = players can find this scattered in each room, as well as in capture points, having 18 crates each. There are 5 capture points in each round. Players can break them using a Telepickaxe. Only one player in each team can carry the pickaxe at a time. Right clicking the pickaxe, will either call the pickaxe or transfer it to another member of the team.
• Eliminating/Freezing Other Players = Players can "freeze" the opponents in place using a Bow given. Once all players in a team are all frozen, the entire team is eliminated. Players can be thawed using a Heater, which works in a 4-block radius for a couple of seconds. The more heater there is, the faster the players will be thawed. Heaters can be broken from opponents at any time it is placed down, and is a one hit break. Heaters are only broken by hand. They can't be broken by arrows. Players can also break their own heaters. If a player is completely thawed, the coins from the player who freezes them will be deducted.

Coins Rewards

• 10 for collecting a crate (shared amongst the team).
• 25 for freezing a player (taken away if the player thaws out).

Coins are also given to teams depending on how long the team survives (shared amongst the team).

Aces

An ace is when one player kills all four members of the enemy team. This is also known as a "team wipe".

Trivia

• This is the first game to give players negative coins.
• The roof of each room is made up of magenta candles, retextured to stone blocks, to allow for some skylight and avoid the need of light blocks.
• TapL is the first player to win without his full team, winning solo in MCC 22 Round 3 alongside the Blue Bats.
• In MCC 22, it was possible to stand near the ledge of the doors when the doors are closed. This was fixed in MCC 23.
• If there are still coin crates unmined in the centre area and there is only one team alive, the game will not end until either those are mined, the timer runs out, or every team is eliminated.
• Sapnap is the first player to make multiple Aces in Meltdown. He aced 3 times in MCC 30.
• Sapnap holds the point record in Meltdown, with 778 coins in MCC 30.
• Both Feinberg and Sapnap holds the most eliminations in Meltdown, with 19 kills in MCC BC and MCC 30 respectively.
• iiTzTimmy currently has the most amount of coin crates mined in a game individually at 77 coin crates, achieved in MCC 27.
  • In relation to this, Smajor1995 currently has the most amount of coin crates mined in a round individually at 40 coin crates, achieved in round 1 of the game in MCC PARTY 2.
• MCC 27's Cyan Coyotes currently has the most amount of coin crates mined in a game at 107 coin crates. They are also the only team where the coin crate amount is in the hundreds.
• This was the last game played on Season 3.

History

Event	Changes
MCC BG	New map was added, being a new version of the original map named Laboratory (Quarry). This also adds jump pads, launch pads, and speed boosts to the game.
MCC CTW	The map name is now displayed on the scoreboard, revealing it to be "Laboratory".
MCC HH	Game duration decreased back from 5 minutes and 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
MCC R3	- The sound played after the team was all frozen was changed to the "lockout" sound, instead of the "team eliminated" sound. The "team eliminated" sound will still be played when other teams are eliminated. - The "TEAM FROZEN" text has been readded.
MCC EC	New map was added, exclusively played in the event, Bastion.
MCC P24	- The centre room may change between rounds. - The "TEAM FROZEN" text was removed.
MCC TR	The team eliminated announcement sound effect plays along with the "TEAM FROZEN" text.
MCC 26	Spawn rooms now have 2 doors each instead of 1 to prevent teams from being trapped.
MCC 25	Game duration increased from 5 minutes to 5 minutes and 30 seconds.
MCC 23	Doors between rooms are thickened so that there are no ledges to stand on.
MCC 22	Game introduced and debut.
