Official Description[]

Game Logo

A teamwork-based puzzle game, where teams must work together to create the longest rail-road. To earn dough for their shiny new railway, players face off in the Gold Rush, where they have a single minute in a dangerous cavern to fill their pockets with Gold Ore. If that wasn't enough, players would have to manage a constant stream of unstable explosive minecarts, crumbling terrain, brain-teasing puzzles, and some long-lost miners out for revenge.

Goal and Mechanics[]

MC Championship - Railroad Rush Rule Video

The main goal of this game is to create the longest minecart track compared to other teams before the timer runs out. However, teams must collect gold to fund their tracks and other equipment needed to create the track. They must also progress through checkpoints and overcome obstacles to create their longest track.

Progression[]

Teams progress through the course by exploding checkpoint copper doors via TNT minecarts. These minecarts are spawned in regular intervals (around 4-5 seconds per cart) at the start of each checkpoint. These minecarts can also be used to explode stone blocks or player-placed concrete blocks surrounding them. These minecarts also have a "power gauge" that needs to be filled with powered rails. If the power gauge runs out, the minecart will explode.

These minecarts can also be used to explode caches' doors. Caches are special vaults that can give additional gold, material, and emeralds when they are opened. Emeralds worth coins when mined.

The amount of TNT minecarts spawning would also increase with more checkpoints.

Stone Blocks[]

There are four levels of stone blocks that appear throughout the course: gravel, cobblestone, cracked stone bricks, stone bricks.

  • Gravel and cobblestone can both be broken using tools and explosives
  • Cracked stone bricks and stone bricks can only be broken by explosives.

The stone block's hardness level would decrease by a level per each explosion.

Gold[]

Teams must collect gold to buy equipment, blocks, and tracks to aid their rail-building. Gold can be found throughout the team's course as well as during the Gold Rush phases of the game. However, there is a random chance where a skeleton can appear when a gold ore is mined. (known as "Fool's Gold")

In certain points of the game, the Gold Rush phase will begin. This allows teams to fly over to the mines and collect gold that is needed for their rail-building journey. There are currently three gold rush phases available at the following times: 1:00, 4:30, and 8:20.

Gold can be traded with Golden Gabriel, who appears at the start of each checkpoint of the game. At the start, only the rails are available to be traded. (treating it as a "tutorial" section) The trades for Golden Gabriel afterwards are as follows:

  • Rails = 1 gold
  • Concrete Blocks = 3 gold
  • Powered Rails = 5 gold
  • Sticks of Dynamite = 3 gold

Coin Rewards[]

Each team will get 2Coin per block travelled forward, not including loops. Each team will also get coins depending on how long their track is, compared to other teams: (ties are broken depending on the efficiency of the track)

  • 1st = 650Coin
  • 2nd = 525Coin
  • 3rd = 475Coin
  • 4th = 425Coin
  • 5th = 350Coin

  • 7th = 250Coin
  • 8th = 200Coin
  • 9th = 175Coin

All of the coins are split equally amongst the team.

Trivia[]

  • This game is related to a video game, Unrailed.
  • The minecart mechanics for this game were recoded to accommodate the games' changes. This results in the powered rails not needing to be lit up.
  • In early iterations of the game, before MCC 4KO, emerald ores can appear during the gold rush phases of the map. These were removed before the game was played officially for the first time.
    • These ores can be seen in old screenshots of the game, specifically in MCC HH's games announcement picture.
  • This game's music featured two different versions.
    • The early version of the music was featured in between MCC 4KO to MCC R3. This version is also featured on the rule video for the game. However, this version is not available to the public.
    • The second version of the music is featured from MCC HH onwards. This version is available to the public.
  • In MCC HH, the Blue Banshees became the first team ever to reach the 3rd and final checkpoint. However, due to a bug relating the dimensions of the mud block, the team instead placed 8th as the minecart failed to reach a rail that was earlier working as intended.
