Smallishbeans (Joel) is a recurring competitor in MC Championship. He has been a Minecraft Youtuber since 2011 and is married to LDShadowLady, another fellow player and Minecraft Youtuber.
He is known for his Minecraft building videos and collaborations with other content creators, including his popular Build Versus with LDShadowLady and his involvement in various SMPs, such as Empires SMP, Hermitcraft, and the Life Series alongside many other players.
He was one of the 40 original players in MCC 1 and has participated in most of the events held ever since. He has won three events: MCC 10, MCC 25 and MCC AF.

- During SolidarityGaming's practice stream, he mentioned that he has never been grounded.[1]
- He is the first player, along with his wife, to play against their spouse in Dodgebolt.
- He is the second Hermit to have participated in the tournament before joining Hermitcraft, with the first Hermit being PearlescentMoon.
- In round 4 of MCC 8's Dodgebolt, he attained the first successful 1v3. This has since been repeated by Grian in round 5 of MCC 17 , by KryticZeuz in round 4 of MCC 23, by SolidarityGaming in round 3 of MCC 28 and FalseSymmetry in round 4 of MCC 29.
- In MCC 9, he and his teammates made a pact to buy lordship titles if they placed 8th or above, due to the community almost unanimously predicting them to finish in the bottom 2 teams. After a strong performance in the final game, they finished in 8th place and he purchased the title of Lord Joel Jumperman, referencing the fact that he made it the farthest out of his teammates in Parkour Warrior.[2]
- In MCC 13 he and his teammates called the team "Yellow Snow," because of the team's colour and the festive theme.
- In MCC 13 and MCC 15, he spilled water on his keyboard.
- The first time this happened, he had to run to Smajor1995's house for a backup keyboard.
- The second time, he had to use his wife's keyboard as his backup.
- To prevent this, from MCC 16 onwards, his wife got him a sippy cup to use during the events.
- After his team placed 9th in MCC 18, he became the first player to have been in every team placement.
- In MCC 18, his entire team decided to participate in the event via LAN. (playing in the same room)[3]

- He currently has the most amount of coin crates mined in a game of Meltdown individually at 76 coin crates, achieved in MCC 25.
- His thumbnail for MCC 33 had some spelling mistakes of "MCC33" at the bottom left of the screen.

- With his participation in MCC TRSD, he has been in all 10 team colors, accomplishing this on Cyan Coyotes.
